Dale Barnett, Huntsman for Live Oak Hounds (FL) was injured while deer hunting the evening of Friday, November 3, 2012 and cut multiple tendons in his left wrist. He successfully underwent surgery the morning of Tuesday, November 6 and is expected to make a full recovery. Barnett will undergo several months of physical therapy following the removal of his cast. Although he will be sidelined, Barnett will be wheel whipping for quite some time.

Live Oak Kennel Huntsman Richard Daley will carry the horn while Barnett recovers.

“This is disappointing to us all who have been enjoying Dale's magic touch with hounds,” said Daphne Wood, MFH. “That said, Richard is very experienced, having been with Piedmont, Green Spring Valley and Fox River Valley as a professional so I and the staff have full confidence that he will do an excellent job. Please come hunting and support Richard.” "

I've received great support from the masters," said Daley. "The hounds are a pleasure to manage and hunt, and in this situation, it goes to show how correct breeding and management translate to the field. Everything I have learned comes into play now and I am grateful for this opportunity."
