Well Well made his first debut as a race horse for Mr & Mrs Houghton. With 14 career starts, 1 win,1 Second, 2 thirds, Earning a total of $18,800.00. It was soon determined racing would not be Well Well’s career of choice.
Shortly after trying him as a race horse Well Well was given to the Paxson family. He became a part of the family and was ridden by Gregory Paxson and Jim Paxson as the Huntsmans horse. Well Well was an incredible horse to hunt in the field, Masters Horse, Field Masters horse, and guest horse. It didn’t matter if you could ride or not, Well Well would take care of you.
Well Well hunted the River Hills Foxhounds pack for many years. Along with hunting he also showed in the off season local hunter shows and was an incredible outriding horse for the Fair Hill Races, Radnor Races, Winterthur Point to Point, Willowdale Steeplechase, Pennsylvania Hunt Cup and a number of other races. After a number of years Well Well soon began to lose sight in one eye. For us, this was a sad moment to come. The thought that Well Well could no longer hunt the hounds or jump over fences safely.
Soon after retiring Well Well from the hunt field, Joint Master Ducan Patterson's daughter Jennifer was in need of apony horse. Soon Well Well was shipped up to New York to Jennifer to become one of her main pony horses. Well Well has accompanied many horses throughout the stables where Jennifer assistant trains.
Well Well recently accompanied Derby Winner 2013 Orb to his daily workouts before and after the Derby as his pony horse. Recently the pair flew home from the Louisville. Well Well has a special place in the hearts of the River Hills Foxhounds and will always be a part of the family.
Thank you for everything.
