J. Robert Gordon Field Trial Grounds
Contact: Jan Sorrells at email@example.com
These wonderful grounds are in the midst of the state's 60,000 acre Sandhills Wildlife Area. The Field Trial Grounds are composed of 9,000 acres of open longleaf pine forest with 36 miles of wide trial fairways filled with feed patches for the quail. There are sand roadbeds and firelanes throughout the grounds, so it is easy for car followers to view the action. The clubhouse, stble, and kennels are in the middle of thr grounds. The footing is excellent- sand. There are no jumps. There will be multiple fields, from first flight to hilltopper. You will enjoy multiple parties and a delicious repast.
It is a wonderful end to the foxhunting season and a great way to meet many other foxhunters, from New York to Alabama!
Come join in on the fun!
Hound Trial Rules: Hounds will be judged on hunting, trailing, speed and drive (full cry) and marking per MFHA Rules, and endurance scores will be given. Hounds must be steady on deer. Please, no first year hounds.
Game: Fox, coyote and bobcat.
This event is known as a great, fun filled weekend- great food, great sport, and great comraderie. All foxhunters are welcome, whether your hunt competes or not.
