Margot and Mudbug: A Junior's View of Life with Hounds

Quite a few juniors participated in the recent Great Lakes Invitational Hound Show, and Covertside Online contacted one of them - eight-year-old Margot Pontia - to ask a few questions about her experiences with hounds - in the field and in the ring. Here are her replies, along with some comments from her mother, large animal veterinarian Dianne Pontia, both members at Miami Valley Hunt (OH).

Live Oak Hounds USPC Foxhunting Challenge Rewards Junior Foxhunters

The United States Pony Clubs, Inc. is pleased to announce the winners of the 13th Annual Live Oak Hounds USPC Foxhunting Challenge. The Live Oak Challenge is designed to encourage Pony Club members who do not regularly hunt to try the sport, and to reward members who hunt on a regular basis to act as mentors to the less-experienced Pony Club members. For their achievements, $10,000 is distributed among the top Pony Clubs who regularly take the greatest percentage (based on total number of members) of active Pony Club members hunting.

2019 Junior North American Field Hunter Championship Welcomes All to Virginia

Here is the latest news about the 2019 Junior North American Field Hunter Championship. We will have the Championship in the Middleburg, Virginia area on Saturday, November 9, 2019. It will be a great Championship weekend with a special event planned on Friday night: David Twiggs, MFHA Executive Director, has invited us to the new MFHA headquarters right in Middleburg. This is wonderful opportunity for the juniors and their families to hear about the MFHA and see the new headquarters.
