Check Out the Library at the National Sporting Library & Museum

Sooner or later, many foxhunters travel to Middleburg, Virginia, to shop and tour the museum galleries at the National Sporting Library & Museum (NSLM). Sometimes overlooked at the six-acre campus, the Library offers a tremendous collection related to country pursuits through its general stacks, rare book holdings, and archival materials. John Connolly, the NSLM's George L. Ohrstrom, Jr., Librarian, works as part of a small team of librarians, curators, educators and others to manage these resources and share them with the sporting community. "What we are is a reflection of the people who have been part of that community," he said.

Foster Shares Thoughts on Leadership and Recognition

Attending his final Masters' Dinner, Annual Meeting, and Masters' Ball as MFHA Executive Director, Dennis Foster shared some reflections on the importance of recognizing one another's contributions in his final address to Masters at their dinner in NYC on January 25. The next evening, at the Ball, Epp Wilson, MFH Belle Meade (GA), delivered a unique toast honoring Foster's 24 years of service to the MFHA.

Radnor Hunt Observes Centennial of "the Great War"

Radnor Hunt included a unique ceremony following Opening Meet on November 5th. Members and guests unfolded a 20-by-30 foot American flag to honor the patriotism of those who served in World War One. Part of a traveling memorial, the flag was properly refolded and participants signed their names in a log book which accompanied it to the next destination. This stirring observance was coordinated by Saving Hallowed Ground, a program whose mission is "to preserve and protect monuments and markers commemorating veterans and patriotic citizens, wherever they may be found."
