Our popular Biennial Seminar will take place June 22-24 in Old Town Alexandria, VA, and at nearby Mount Vernon, George Washington’s home. The weekend’s events will feature special celebrations of Washington’s passion for foxhunting, including remarks by Philip Smucker, author of Riding with George: Sportsmanship and Chivalry and the Making of America’s First President, and a wreath-laying at Washington’s tomb. Seminar topics will include opening new territory, retooling OTTBs for the hunt field, Masters’ responsibilities, and a live conformation analysis of different foxhound breeds on the historic lawn at Mount Vernon, moderated by Martin Wood, MFH, Live Oak Hounds (FL). Cocktails and dinner at Mount Vernon, along with time to tour the historic home and estate, highlight the weekend’s social events. To register, visit mfha.com.
