The glamour of indoors and the grit of qualified foxhunters combine every autumn for the celebrated Hunt Night competition at Pennsylvania National Horse Show. This year's iteration, set for Monday, October 17th, at the Farm Show Complex, promises a terrific evening for spectators and competitors alike. With a reception including buffet and desserts and a variety of contests in the ring, it's worth the trip to watch our good field hunters take center stage under the lights.

Preceded by a Parade of Hounds, divisions include Field Hunter, Hunter Under Saddle (Gentlemen's and Ladies'), and the popular Hunt Teams class. Clubs may field up to two teams; the winner receives the Potomac Hunt Challenge Trophy, donated by the Potomac Hunt. Perpetual awards also include the Ralph A. Alfano Memorial Perpetual Trophy, donated by his family, to the hunt that accumulates the most overall points; and the "Polly" Gingrich Caswell Perpetual Trophy, to the leading lady rider.

A new addition this year is the popular Pony Races, certain to become a crowd favorite. There is no charge to park or simply to attend the show. Plan a road trip to cheer on your hunt's riders!
