In November, Middleburg Hunt (VA) met at Middleburg Academy and both riding and nonriding students enjoyed the day with hounds. Joining the hunt for the day were Salem Twiggs '20 and her father, MFHA Executive Director David Twiggs; sisters Beverly '20 and Nancy '18 Alcock with their dad Graham; Robin Peterson '18; Sophie Horn '18; equestrian coach Jennifer Lee; and faculty member Kasey Morris.

A small, coeducational independent school offering grades 8-12, Middleburg Academy's 90-acre campus lies along Goose Creek in the Blue Ridge foothills of Loudoun County. Hounds gathered in front of historic Mary House on campus with huntsman Richard Roberts, carrying the horn for his first season with the pack.

We had a very good run from campus all the way past Salamander Resort , where hounds put one fox to ground. Following the meet, students brought out apple cider for the riders, while Richard gave them an overview of foxhunting. Naturally, the hounds were quite a hit and mingled well.
